skimmer overflowing
 

What would cause it to overflow? Are there any skimmers that wont overflow and get water everywhere? I have had this for 2 years. I unhooked it, its done it twice. the last time it soaked my wood floors! I am afraid it will do that while im at work, and really do some damage

check the airline to see if there is calcium precipitate collecting up where the airline connects to the pump. This is a common problem and will cause the skimmer to overflow. if this is the problem, test your calcium, alkalinity, and most importantly, the magnesium. If your calcium and alk are where they need to be, and your magnesium is low, calcium precipitate will become a problem.

You shouldnt need to buy a new hose. If you do have calcium precipitate building up in the airline, or more likely the hose barb for the airline on the pump intake, just soak them in white vinegar and hot water (25/75) for a few hours and clean them out.
