Like Jones said, is a broad question but if you are talking about being ready to grow any plant on the market then you are looking at a lot of light. Normally 3.5-6 watts depending on tank size. It isn't as hard as it sounds though and the site will help a lot to try and explain some of the technical aspects of growing plants and what they need.
