As many T5 bulbs as you can pack in the hood using Sunlight Supply TekII reflectors. Unsure of the dimensions so it's hard to say how many will fit.
T5's make good lights but it's the reflector that makes ALL the difference. A bunch of T5's strung together over bad reflectors might as well be a bunch of power compacts. There is no debate about that, it is a known fact. It is also known that the Tek reflectors are the standard for being the most useful of the reflectors made. It will also benefit to get good ballasts as well, Icecap or Blue Wave will make a difference in output. Don't just buy any cheap kit or Jebo/Oddysea light. Sunlight Supply makes a couple of good light hoods as well, they also use the technology and experience to get the most out of the reflectors. Keep in mind that if you mount them directly to a tank canopy you could get 1-3 more tubes mounted instead of the plastic trim of the light hood. |
