Fish for 10 Gallon?

Ok, so I have a 10 gallon tank just sitting here...so obviously I need to start plotting about it :)

Anyway I was wondering if anyone has any good suggestions on what to get...I am not fond of a community tank, plus I think that the tank is a tad too small for it anyway. I really just want to get one fish for it (that way I can spoil it and give it more individualized attention).

I love bettas and their personalities, but I want to try something a tad different as I've always had bettas.

So simply put, what is a good fish that will do well in a 10 gall on its own for a little while (I'll get a bigger tank...as soon as I find a decent one for the cheap) and that has a great/funny/intelligent personality.

I can think of plenty of fish that come to mind, but I guess the real question would be: How soon would you updgrade and what's the max tank size you want to keep. There are plenty of great cichlids with the personality you describe but most need to be in 55gls, sooner, rather than later.
I've heard the freshwater puffers are fun. I have no experience with them but everyone who has them raves about them.

I would recomend the dwarf puffer, here is an unreal site Dwarf Puffers : Home . I was actually considering getting one but i live waaay up north so the selection isint good but i heard there readily availeble mostly everywhere else!

Also you could add three oto's to that set up since you have a ten gallon!

Good luck!

probaly a 35 gallon or a 30 gallon. good enough for one species. and if your looking for a bigger tank than a ten gallon.

You can do a 10 gallon shell dweller tank with multis, or brevis. Both can thrive in a 10 gallon tank and are very interesting fish to watch. I have a 20 gallon shell dweller tank, but know many people who have kep a pair or 1m2f in 10 gallon tanks.
