So I decided to start a thread dedicated to surroundings your aquarium is setup in. I know some people are gonna have some pretty cool setups but I'll start with mine. Nothing really too special but I love it! :-D
I'll upload a few pictures of my 50 gallon and its surroundings once I get the aquarium sorted out.
I planted a substantial number of plants not too long ago and a few Cabombas are intent on floating around the aquarium, rather than staying rooted like good Cabombas should.
C'mon Jeaninel, I don't believe you DON'T have one in the garage??
This is a fun thread. I'm going to post pics tonight, as soon as it's dark outside so the pics will turn out.
@ MyLittlePleco
Uhhh...let's see, I don't have one in the closet.
@AK
Nope, none in the garage at the moment. It's too messy with junk right now. I'm lucky I can park my car in there. I need to do some spring cleaning!
Great tanks everyone! I redecorated my 5 gallon tank earlier and decided to get on the forums and stumbled upon this thread and thought it was a very creative idea. Just thought I'd show you all what my room and tanks look like The big tank is a 135 gallon. By the way, that's my all white American Pit Bull Terrier in a couple of the shots, the fish really help her relax as you can tell in the second picture!
I like your pics, MrWyn! Your dog is positively adorable! I LOVE pits. She has an awesome face, what pretty eyes!! She looks like she's got lots of energy. Does she??
PS. What are hiding under that dark sheet??
Aunt Kymmie, thanks for the feedback! She's got LOTS of energy when she goes on walks and to the park, but when she's home, she knows exactly how to relax. I swear she's like a human because she's been raised as an indoor dog since she was 7 weeks old. She is an extremely intelligent dog, and will be 3 years old in April. When I first got my 135 gallon tank a little over a year ago, she used to get very intrigued by the fish. She would prop her ears up and stand in front of it following the fish back and forth, and sometimes would even get that confused dog look where they tilt their head to the side with that look of curiosity. She doesn't do that any more I guess because shes used to it now. And as for the sheet, I just use it to cover my window at night. I really need to get some white blinds already to match this room. Can't wait to see some more fish tanks, along with their surroundings! When are you going to post up some of your pics Aunt Kymmie?
Recently just got this 75 gallon, don't know what I'm gonna do with it yet I want to make it planted but that would take a lot of work might make it a cichlid tank but like I said, I dunno yet
Elvis, your dog is a cutie patootie! I also love the staircase and how nicely your tank looks under it. Cool.
@ MrWyn- I will post pics when you tell me what's under that dark sheet! It's like you avoided answering that question and now my curiousity is getting the best of me! :brow:
MrWyn- so sorry! I just went back to read about your dog again (I love that dog! She would be a great playmate for my part pit) and see that sheet is used to cover the window. Sorry. Here's my pics:
Living room wall, followed my my bedroom, then the two 6gl side by side in the office, and my poor Q/T tank tucked away in the laundry room. I keep it in the laundry room for a good reason. I'm the only one who goes in that room and if I'm treating someone they need peace and quiet with no foot traffic, when they are recuperating from whatever it is they have come down with.
Thanks! I really should have placed the canopy/hood back on top of the Discus tank before I snapped that picture. I forgot to put it back on after the last water change!
Okay. Pictures of my 50 gallon and its surroundings, as promised.;-)
My only aquarium is in the kitchen/dining/living room. Everyone gets to enjoy it that way, I guess.
So I decided to take a nap on the sofa (I can be lazy for a day, can't I?) and I woke up to this sight. The sound of running water is amazingly relaxing.
And last but not least, a picture of my sweet Yorkie admiring the aquarium while my 3 bewildered Boesemans stare back.
Oh man, Aiko is adorable!! I knew he was going to be cute as all get out! BTW, posting pics of our dogs here on this thread is not off topic, since our dogs are considered our "surroundings"!
Thanks for introducing us to Aiko. :-D
Here is Dillon's Tank and of course precidence has been set.... the dogs. Dillon is the Wire Haired Fox Terrier who watches his fish. The Schnauzer is Jake or "Jakiebabie".
What a great looking room, love the floors. Nice tank!
And of course, your dogs. Love the pose on the tree stump. Good looking dogs!
Between the two who is the alpha? Based on that pic I'd say Dillon? Fox terriers are tough little dogs!
Thanks MyLittlePleco and Aunt Kymmie... Dillon is totally Alpha! He beats up his little big brother some times. Just gets carried away. Smartest dog I've ever owned... can bounce and catch a tennis ball repeatedly, tries to catch it with his paws. Can shake a paw with both paws from a "lay down" position. Loves to play "monkey in the middle" with hubby and I but once he gets the tennis ball he tosses it to you to do it again. God help you if he gets out the front door cause he's goin to the park on his own! (which is about the equiv of 4 blocks away!) lol
