plant question

hey, i am pretty new to fish keeping, and have never had a planted tank. i also have 4 silver dollars, a red tailed shark, 2 ghost shrimp, a pleco, and a african dwarf frog in a 75 gal.. i am wanting to put live plants in this tank, but i hear that the silver dollars will demolish (eat) any live plants.. so is it a lost cause.. thanks in advance..

Yeah they will get eaten.

do you think that if i add those sheets of seeweed for herbivores, that the silver dollars may leave live plants alone.

silver dollars will eat regardless of being "full." i hear that some plants "taste" bad to some fish. These being, Java fern, Java moss, and anacharis. Im not sure about anymore
