Angelfish breeding fail, again
Hay everyone. My angelfish have laid eggs for the 3rd time and this time did a great job fanning and cleaning them. The first 2 times the eggs were gone overnight, but this time they lasted a good 48 hours and then I noticed by 4am some started turning white. By 7am the parents had eaten all the eggs and now seem really depressed about it. Anything I can do to make them feel better? I know that sounds funny but they were doing so great this time! For those of you that have had angelfish lay eggs, how many failed attempts were there before a successful hatching?

Failed attempts are very common in young Angelfish. They do not get'depressed' as humans would, as this is part of nature to them. Sometimes it can take them months before they successfully raise the eggs to fry. Are there any other fish in the tank? Some of the eggs turning white is quite normal due to them not being fertilized. Parents could either be eating their eggs because they feel threatened, or they are just too young yet to raise the eggs. Give it time.
