new freshwater tank 40 gallon. when do i add fish?
i have a 40 gal fresh with 4 danios and a cory. they have been in there for a little over a week. i am planning on platies and posibly cherry barbs and a pleco. when is a good time to start putting them in?
also, what order should i put them in and in what order?
Do you have test kits? Test for ammonia, nitrites and nitrates. When ammonia and nitrites hit zero you'll see a spike in nitrates. Do a 25% water change and you should be okay after that. You might see problems before that happens though because you didn't give the system a change to cycle before adding the first fish.
Cherry barbs may be aggressive to the others, you might want to rethink that option.
what should i put in substituting the cherry barbs?
