Forget the Aquatic plant ban, if you live in America, you should know about this "National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace" This piece of legislation is proposing that that each American has a "unique internet ID". In an effort to "allow us not to have to remember so many passwords" .....Convenient.... It also will allow the president to shut down parts of the internet in the case of a "cyber attack". I know I come off as a paranoid nut job to some....but this is important. Don't take my word for it. Read it yourself because you are not going to hear about it on the news. Here's a link: Bill Text - 111th Congress (2009-2010) - THOMAS (Library of Congress) |
There are already unique intert id's per computer called IP addresses, and homland security can already shut down any part of the internet they wish without due process, as proved last year when they took down major file sharing sites with the help of Imigrations and Custom Enforcement. heres a list of sites taken down last year: Domain Names just visit http://www.tieonsale.com/ for an example of what it looks like when they do. |
