What fish to use to begin my tank cycle-?

Greetings:

I have a 30 gal freshwater tank and I'm ready to begin the cycle but I'm not certain what starter fish I should purchase to get this whole process going. Suggestions & Recommendations based on experience is always welcome.

What fish do you want in your tank? You should get fish that you want long-term. Check the fish profiles for the fish you want to have, and see if it says whether any are hardy in a new tank.

Zebra danios are often used. I have personally had guppies and platies survive when i cycled my first tank.
