i have a 29 gallon freshwater tank and was wondering if i should do water changes or not to lower it my grandparents had a 100 gallon freshwater with a bunch of fish and never performed a water change and all is good
yes do regular water changes, if not bad things will happen to your fish eventually and youll be like...
You would want to do regular water changes. Some fish prefer to have clean water.
Nitrates themselves aren't going to harm the fish unless in really high levels. I've seen angelfish in tanks with well over 160ppm Nitrate and they were perfectly healthy.
Water changes also help with things like odor... Don't want stinky fishies! :D :D :D :D :D
