My new Platys
 

I just got 2 platys for my 10 gallon tank. If they are doing ok in a few weeks I may get another one to put in there with them. One is a yellow Mickey Mouse Platy and the other one is a Red Platy. Hopefully they are the same sex. The lady said they both look female....but they could still be pregnant :roll: haha. I hope they'll like their new place :) Should I feed them right now? Or should I wait?

Cool, they should do well. They are good, hardy fish. Did the lady show you how to tell the difference between male and female? Females have a fan shaped anal fin and swim with it spread out, while the male's anal fin looks like a skinnier point.

I usually don't feed new fish right away... I wait until the end of the day and feed a little bit, or if i bought them later in the day i don't feed until morning. I don't know why... I just feel like i don't know when they ate last, and i think we have a habit of overfeeding fish so i just wait until they've had time to settle in.

ok :) and we have a heater but we unplugged it because its 78 degrees in the tank. And, their supposed to live in a little colder water.

My platys have done well in 78 degree water, probably more optimal being colder but to me it seems its more important the temperature stays the same.
