Clams - Beneficial?
I've been thinking about adding some clams to my tanks. I know they are natural filters, and was wondering if they'd be pretty beneficial to the aquarium?
This is the type I'm talking about, if they can even be kept in tropical?
Tropical Freshwater Invertebrates for Aquariums: Freshwater Clam
If I get a thumbs up for these, definitely getting a bunch for my tanks. Tired of cloudy water from detritus.
Also, I believe there are tons of invasive clam species in my area...would it be alright to go out and catch these (maybe I can make a dent in their population...haha), quarantine them, then add them to the tanks?
