Someone gave me grief!

Now I'm bawling over my aro's stupid protruding stomach when I saw only two Apollo sharks. A 11-12 inches aro eating a 6-7 inches shark? I don't believe it!! This aro can bend a fish's spinal column to enable him to gulp down his prey!.

Quite a smart fish finding ways to eat fish that he cannot gulp down wholly.:omg:

And to think I pitied his shredded tail when the Apollos attacked him due to intolerance as of two days ago? Now I know why! They were trying to defend themselves. They're now rehomed in my pond at the moment while risking my platies under predation but I'll make sure they have a good home when I buy another tank. I'm forced to throw curses on the aro. He cannot tolerate other fish, not even catfish with their spines. I will have to find new homes for my other fish. I have thrown signals to the wind.

Lesson learned: Never underestimate a smart dork like this arowana as he finds ways to eat his fellow roommates. I'll cancel my plans to buy incoming predatory characins. Ask no more..I'll be grieving over the aro's stomach.

Sorry to hear that! Poor Apllos.

How many did he eat?

Only one. The other two are in the pond and if they're happy, I'll let them stay there permanently.

Sorry for your loss but You really shouldnt be suprised unless you have an african aro.

Daz 05-15-2007 01:52 AM

Agree with gump, mine is only 16" or so and he can swallow nearly half a Sardine in one go. :D
You surprise me there mate. Should of let the Apollo's eat the Tetra's.
