Are Jellybean Parrots really a cross at all?
Hey everyone. I recently got a pair of "Jellybean Parrots" from a local Petco. At the time I wasn't sure if they were fertile or not, and posted a question on ********.com, the site I'd been frequenting to learn about my Oscar. Anyway, one of the members made a claim I'd never read about before, a claim that Jellbean Parrots were just a strain of "short-bodied" Albino/Pink Convict. He showed a few pictures of short bodied versions of other species such as this one of Texas cichlids:
No one else could confirm or deny his claim, and I was just curious if anyone had ever ended up with a typical "Jellybean" like the one pictured by mixing a Blood Parrot and a Convict, or if a Jellybean really is just a "short-bodied" Convict, breed from two Convict cichlids?
polly want a cracker?
All parrots are hybrids I believe.Ive been told that they are genetically engineered .A mix between red devil cichlid and a green sevrum.I don't know if there are others .i suspect they will continue doing this.why? I do not know. I SUSPECT that the people responsible for this are trying dwarf cichlid as they do in dogs or horses.just buy a bigger tank.Dont change the genetic structure of a naturally occurring beast.Snakeheads posed a problem a few years back by over running lakes and killing other fish.imagine if someone creates a frankenstein snakehead.yikes
Re: polly want a cracker?
Why do you think they still continue doing the trend? These fish bring a lot of profits from unscrupulous traders and unwary buyers.
