ey just like to no what to feed my bumble bee pim catfish
Those catfish are quite nocturnal and the only time you'll feed them is after switching lights off at night.
They'll need several hiding places due to their sedentary nature.
By the way, Pim is short for "Pimelodid", a family of Catfish where the Shovelnose Catfish also belongs.:wink2:
Here's the pic of the bumblebee pim I have seen in one site:
he looks more like this
Is that your catfish or it came from another website?
I have one of these little fellas! The tricky part is getting food he wants to the bottom, thats where the challenge ends. In my experiance with them they will try just about anything that sinks (excluding pleco discs and vegies on a rock) Mine eats beaf heart, blood worms, flakes, pellets, he has even touched some shrimp but it dosnt seem to be a favorite. I have seen him try the roots of my plants sticking out of the gravel. and he ate some poo like a month ago and did not spit it out...lol....
yup mine allways takes my plecos food away and hides it
I've heard there are about 10 varities of these guys. From 2" to 20". I have 2 in my 125 and they have made nice additions. One slowed down to 3" and the other is 6". They come out at night and will sift through the substrate trying to eat anything organic. Mine will accept a nightcrawler from time to time as a treat.
