Breeding Blue Rams Hi I was wondering if I could add three female rams to my one male. I have had the male around a year and he is full grown. I'm hoping to breed them and I hope the male win accept the females... any tips on fry food... I heard about first bites and i have bbs frozen |
As noted in our profile, this species is best when kept as a pair. This can depend upon the tank size. While a group of one male and 3 females would be OK in general, with sufficient space, during spawning the "extra" females might be hounded. Both the male and female can be very protective of the eggs and fry. This is common for most all the dwarf cichlids. Byron. |
so what would you suggest |
I have a 38 gallon |
In a 38g, presumably no longer than 3 feet, I wold go with one pair of either Ram species, no more. |
ok well thank you for the help Byron... hopefully the babies will live:-P. Now all I ahve to do is find the right female.. I have heard i am getting one for X-mas |
