Anemone. Hey guys, I got back from my LFS yesterday with £150 of new coral, included i got some anemone for my pair of clowns but they just dont seem interested. Infact they just stay at the top of the Tank (normally next to the internal filter) and occasionally swim up and down the corners. Why dont they explore the new additions to the tank and swim around the live rock? its asif there scared of it. Many thanks Dan:lol: |
Wow that must be a nice array of corals.. Any pics... The clowns are probably tank bred so they have never been in contact with an anemone so there probably a bit wary.. |

They really make the tank 'come to life'!! Nice choices. |
It looks great! I'm not sure what type of anemone that is, but certain types of fish will only host in specific types of anemones. I have a pair of Ocellaris clowns and I know they will host in bubble-tip anemones so I am planning on a green bubble tip. I've also read on other forums that other people's clowns have taken weeks before they would host their anemone. |
Thanks, The pics dont do its justice, it looks really good. i think i am going to convert my rio 240 to a marine as well, its currently a FW tank |
Your clowns host eventually. Mine took almost a month. |
nice looking good man ...some discasomas and rhodactis are great first additions...and are those green star polyps...those are realy healthy looking colonies...your store must be nice...you could frag the colonies to help them spread but for now just let em aclimate...i like trading mushrooms...you can never have all the colors...never ending varients...i just started the ricordia madness...great pics...when that anemone opens up its gonna be big...glad to see your tank is comming along...and be carefull its an expensive addiction...so just turn the other tank into a frag tank and make a few bucks while you enjoy the hobby.... |
