Tons of mini bubbles from filter
So my xp3 has got my tank filled with tons of little bubbles. In the filter itself theres like an inch that isnt filled with water. Im almost positive the air is getting in somewhere in the intake, possibly right where the hose connects to the plastic part.
Anybody else had this problem? Should i just try pushing the hose up even farther? even though it takes like superman strength
If you primed it, then thats probably your problem. The easy fix is unplug it and with it still hooked up to the tank pop on or two of the main clamps that hold the pump to the canister part. But when you do this apply steady pressure to the pump to keep it sealed. Slowly let off on it and you should hear a hissing sound when the air starts escaping out of the main O-ring seal. Just let it do this till it makes different noises and water starts trickling out. Then just apply more pressure on the top to stop it and put the clamps back on. It will still make noise initially and bubble since some will still be in the lines, but should be much better a hour later. If not repeat. I've never had a issue with mine getting air in from the hoses, if anything it would leak out there.
that fix the bubbles for like an hour, till i saw a bunch of bubble start coming out and a lower water level. i think im going to take this pos back and get an eheim or give up altogether.
Suit yourself then, mine has been going for 5 years w/o a single problem and no bubbles.
