dwarf puffers with worms? i posted under emergencies about this before. seems like my puffers have worms? well had worms. i started with 3, had them about 2-3 months. 1 died after his stomach became sunken. now ive lost the second 1. the 1 i have left seems fat and healthy. was just wondering if maybe its somethin ive done? params r normal, 10%water chnge weekly, feed 3 times a week with frozen variety and occasionaly live food wen i can get it. if it was worms is it something that they would have always had? the exisistin 1 like i say, isnt showin any signs of goin the same way as the others. im gutted. im gonna go to a different lfs id like to replace them, but will the remaining accept newbies???? thanks in advance |
worms can be tricky i had a group of guppies get worms from frozen foods so how they came to get them could be one of many places mine eat %100 live and ive never had problems the illness may origonate from the dealer so getting your new ones from another shop may be a good idea. how the old reacts to the new depends mostly on sex a female will be less aggressive than the male your best bet is to move the decor about so all the fish have to re establish territories from scratch |
thanks for the reply. unfortunately i have to use the frozen food due to my closest lfs only has it on friday-sunday. i have family therefore cannot devote ALL my time to driving round for the fish! hahahaha. im hopin the lil guy thats left will b ok. i am definately goin to another shop at weekend to get more. unfortunately the place i usually go seems to have slacked, always dead fish and algaefied tanks, such a shame |
give whiteworms a try i got mine from ebay there fattening but good in small amounts  and being terestrial the wont carry anything |
do u cu;ture them yourself? |
i bought a culture from ebay a week or so ago my whiteworms are reproducing like lightning and keep escapeing from there tub all they need is compost to live in and food like oats sprinkled on top there certainly cost effective |
done! thanks daisy!!!! |
my only suggestion is to keep them in a deep tub i keep mine in an ice cream tub and they all stick to the lid so when i open it they ping of everywere  |
