Looking to start a 5 gallon FOWLR
Does this seem like a fairly easy goal to achieve? I have kept freshwater for a while and wanted to try saltwater. I have a 5 gallon tank that I could use and I also have a 2.5 gallon. Which do you think is best? For me the 2.5 would be the easiest to transfer and prep and what not but is that just too small?
I will be cycling with nutrafin cycle because I have used it on all of my other tanks and it works great.
What would I need for the 5?
What would I need for the 2.5? It just has a normal light bulb built into the hood. This is the tank:
Complete Aquarium Starter Kit: Aqueon Mini Bow Desktop Aquarium Kit at PETCO
Everything the same as the top but without the hood?
If I was to use the 2.5 what kind of fish could be in a 2.5?
Thanks in advance for the help
5 gallon FOWLR (fish only with live rock) saltwater tank with fish in it? What kind of SW fish would fit?
It would be pretty diffecult because of the; flucuations, toxicity, evapouration, etc.
I don't know if there is anything you can put in a 5g SW tank. Is there?
there actually quite a few fish that would do well in such a tank (just not more than say 1 maybe 2) the larger issue is that saltwater requirements are vastly different from fresh water and the product you are thinking of using may not be the best option in the long run.. here are a few links i give to everyone thinking about getting into salt and the best advice any one can give is to read read read and then when you think you know all of it read more and ask lots of questions LOL....
its a lot to take in but worth every minute!!! believe me when i tell you getting salty is an addiction that has no cure and the key is understanding so that you are not waisting valuable money for things not needed in an already expensive hobby
