Heater Suction Cup Question

So i'm having trouble keeping my heater's suction cups sticking to the glass. Any suggestions as to how I can keep the heater from touching the rocks or fix the suction cups? If i can't fix the suction cups, i'm thinking of using these small rare earth magnets to hold the heater in place, but i do not know if the magnets will damage the heater in any way.

I've had this problem a couple of times. For whatever reason the suction cups get dislodged. I clean the back of them really well, and the side of the tank where I want it to stick, and it does. Could the area posssibly be "dirty"??

+1, Its usually something like algae or dirt getting stuck between the cup and the glass so it doesn't stick. I have never seen magnetic mounts for heaters...

Thanks guys. What's odd though is that only 1 of the 2 suctions cups doesn't stick, but i'll try it out later today.

They will also wear out, some sooner than others. The flexibility or something doesn't hold and they move so water gets behind and they pop off the glass.

You can buy replacement suction cups, in packages of 2 usually. They come in various sizes, so take one of your existing ones with you to ensure you get the size that will hold the heater.

Byron.
