Algae waffers?

Hey guys i have what appears to be a rather large oto, I do not have a whole lot of algae in the tank so i was thinking about adding algae waffers to dinner. Will my two Cory's help out with these as well and should i limit these to once a week or is daily ok?

i feed mine algae wafers as he has taken more of a liking to these anyway. definately limit them depending on the size of the cory. sometime they wiill just nibble on them. if they are a smaller cory maybe 1 for 2 . first you must see if they take a liking to them though (:

I have heard alot about otos, but I have no idea what they look or act like, so I will be no help to you there.

Cories LOVE algae wafers. I give mine half an algae wafer a day. Cories should be kept in groups no less than 4, but preferabely 5 or more. They live in groups. I don't know what size tank your tank is so be careful not to overstock it.

I did a search on oto's in the tropical fish profiles when i read another post. that is the only way i new I had one, LOL!!

I have 2 cory's in the tank and will not be able to add any more. my tank is pretty much overstoked now. They have been together for a couple years now in someone else's tank. He had to move so i took them over. Everyone seems to get a long just fine. I have had them for about three months. I have a full list over under "my aquariums" tab.

thanks for the advice. I am going to try and get some tonight for these guys.

Corydoras isn't the only school of fish that isn't complete. In your "lil guy" tank, tiger barbs and Black Skirt/Black Widow Tetras are also schooling fish that need a group of 6. Maybe you need to get another/a bigger tank?

The same thing happened to me. I was happy and then I realized corys and lemon tetras were school fish! I have 1 cory and 2 lemons that are moving to my new (used) 55g tank. Then I will have room for friends for them.:-D

I think i am going to et a 55, trying to convince the boss :P I would love to add some more Cory's/angels/Skirt tetra's and get rid of the Tiger barbs.....

What about the giant danios? Are they going to stay in the 20g?

I'm not sure......... She was wanting to get a betta for the 20 gallon and a few compatable with him.....
