Anyone ever heard of Microrasbora sp. 'Ornate'?

Whatever it is, I just bid on some online. I'll post a picture if I win them. *shrug*

I figure worst case, they'll fit in a 10 gallon. :P

That's a common name which means you may never find it. The Microrasbora genus has been substantially revised by Dr. Richard Mayden, Dr. Maurice Kottelat, Dr. Fang Fang and others, to the extent that officially only one species is left in it, and that is highly questinoable; Dr. Fang, an eminent authority on these fish, left it in Microrasbora as there was basically no where else to put it without further study. Dr. Meyden's latest scientific work has basically suggested a revision of all the cyprinids, and if this is accepted very few fish will remain where they are today in the entire order.

Some of this is referenced in our profile of the Celestial Pearl Danio which was once in Microrasbora, here's the link:

I just noticed, the literature citings I thought I'd included in this profile are not; I'll have to dig these up and revise the profile, some of them are online.

No idea. I am familiar with alot of the small rasboraras and have two little sparrow rasboras. Ornate throws me off though.....
