does anybody know about this type of overflow box is it better or the same then the others with the tube?

I've never seen them or heard of them being used.

If your going to use a hob overflow this is the only kind that i would use.

I like them. Some people I know attach a Tom's water lift pump to the little 1/4" pippette sticking out of the top. That way if there is a power failure the pump will kick on when the electricity does and helps restart a siphon if broken. However, the little piece of acrylic before the 1" pipe and foam filter prevents the loss of suction.
