That will have to be a big tank tough because those fish get massive, as you'll see from that link.

Plus, as adults they should be transfered to saltwater. They only tend to be in brackish as smaller fish.

I betcha some of the synos would work in brackish water. Aren't the African rift lakes just a subset of Brackish?

If it's a large tank and you're looking for a catfish as a scavenger, and you have a sand or fine, smooth gravel bottom, then violet gobies might do the same thing for you. they like to filter feed on sand and will pick the detritus out of it much like a catfish would.
