The Giant Gourami, Piglet!

Piglet is a Giant Gourami. Piglet was feeling rather crowded, and thus embarked on an adventure to expand horizons in search of a new home!

Piglet eventually found his way to a 12 foot aquarium, follow the adventure!

Great video. I really enjoyed watching it. Thanks for sharing.

I love your videos. That new tank is gorgeous (let's hope those people don't need to move house in the future....). I wish I had that inbuilt drain and fill system. Bliss!

The fish shop that I go to has a giant gourami who lives there. He's terrific. Piglet looks like a great fish, too.

Bliss is right. *envious* I'd like to know what the total cost of that set up was. It looks like the "owner" was wearing scrubs. He has to be a plastic surgeon or cadiac specialist. What normal Joe Schmoe can afford that type of set up?? Very nice aquascape in that tank.

Thanks! We have 4 new videos in the works. We will be sure to post updates here at tropicalfishkeeping.com! Feel free to join our facebook page too for more fun. Share this vid on your Facebook page while you're at it!

And by the way- yes, this client is a doctor- anesthesiologist actually. She's a passionate hobbyist and maintains her own aquarium, unlike most clients we install aquariums for- we usually also maintain it.

Oh and a 12 foot tank and full project like this runs about $15k. No haters please! Clients like this work hard for their money and are passionate about their aquariums like everyone else. We don't make these huge margins on such a job either. There's a ton of overhead involved in being able to operate at this level. I'm not some rich, elitist, jerk! Just a passioanate hobbyist who's tried to make a living doing this and elevating the "hobby" to (hopefully) a higher realm.

That doesn't shock me. Who was in the video - 3 or 4 guys? Full day of work just on the installation? A plumber as well. Prior to that, you've got the design, and the manufacture. How much glass and what thickness? Just the glass would set you back a few quid. Bucket after bucket of gravel. Beautiful river stones. Driftwood. Big bits. I know what it cost me to buy and set up my 250-litre and it was on sale. Frankly, that's a lot of money, but I can see where it went. As for value, people could easily spend that sort of money on interior design, repainting, buying new furniture, etc. I'd rather have Piglet in my loungeroom than a new sofa..... but then I'm a fish nut
