Quick question about feeding and stocking
Okay, this is an easy one. When people say to feed your fish 2 times a day and, "as much as they consume in a couple minutes", does this mean you feed them as much as they can eat in a couple minutes two times a day or as much as they can eat in a couple minutes total for the day. And also, when stocking Rift Lake Cichlids, how and when do you put them in? Like, when do you put in the more aggressive ones, how many fish do you put in at a time, and stuff like that. :jester:If you can direct me to an article or something like that that would be great!:-D Thanks,

hello . we would need some more info as to wich fish you would want to stock with.
The feeding is only as much as the can eat in a few min. Like a pinch or 2. of flakes or a few pellets. 2 times a day.

Thanks for the feeding info! As for the fish, I am planning on getting Lake Malawi Mbuna Cichlids, yet I'm not sure exactly which kinds yet. I was wondering if there is maybe and article that goes into what mbuna cichlids go good together and when to put them in. I was thinking maybe to put the aggressive ones in last so they feel like they don't own the tank? I've also looked at other people's tanks to see what they keep. It is a 50 gallon tank with 430 gph filtering.
Thanks for your help, I'm completely new to cichlids,
P.S. What do you keep in your 55 gallon?

it was a fry tank. now it has been taken down since i have moved. I am in the process of seting them all back up.
I would say for your tank, I would go with 6 to 8 cichlids 2 yellow labs, 2 red zebras, 2 elongatus likomas. ect. There is endless number of diffrent Cichlids you could go with.
I hope this helps a little. I will try to help the best that i can.
