There is a product here in Oz from NUTRA SEA called "Marine Tank Scrubber", web address is www.customsealife.com. does anybody on here use their products at all?...and does this type of stuff work?
I do use their "Reef Energizer" for my filter feeders, they seem to love that.
oops, just checked that address and they are no longer.
anyway I still got this bottle and want to know if I should use it up...still full and not that old.
any ideas on these type of products? or should it be just plain elbow grease?
If looking for a product to use to clean the glass of an old drained tank try this, salt. Salt from a mix used on a sponge can be used as an aggregate that won't scratch the glass.
sorry, I should of said its an additive you put in an established tank, its says on the bottle:
Marine Tank Scrubber contains molecules that are chemically engineered to remove pollution from marine and freshwater tanks. This product combines with pollutants to form large aggregates that are easily removed by mechanical filtration. Periodic applications of marine tank scrubber will keep your tank free of unsightly green, red and brown algae.
what do you think??
Kent products make a similar binder. The idea is to "chelate" the smaller molecules and bind them into large particles. This can work well with a skimmer but can also overpower it with almost clear water pouring out every second. This can be very frustrating. I've tried them before in the freshwater tanks and was not impressed.
so with good flow in a tank and a good Skimmer, i will be better off and save money in the long run?
