Where to get mystery snails?
Hi all, I've been looking for mystery snails, prefer the purple versions, but can't seem to locate them. I only see "out of stock" notes on the 2 sites I found that listed them for sale.
Any pointers on where to find them?
Thanks much.
:) edit to add: pomacea bridgesii

Some chain "brand name" pet stores carry mystery snails, but usually just the chestnut, gold and ivory, which really are beautiful in their own right if you see them in person. You can find them at auction on eBay and Aquabid in all different colors very frequently. There are also many breeders with babies available at I prefer breeders as a first choice, and auctions second. Some auctions list them as brigs, pomacea bridgesii, or even pond snails which is NOT correct. There's a listing now for pond snails that are actually canas (another type of pomacea) that grow the size of softballs. Very deceiving for an unsuspecting buyer. If you still need help you can pm me.

Thanks so much. And thank you for the link. I haven't seen any at the ls but I'll keep looking, and I like the goldens, too. There weren't any colored ones that I saw on ebay or applesnails. Aquabid didn't either, one was a mixed group but no guarantee of colors. I never thought they'd be so difficult to find. I love snails. :)
Thanks again!

On the main Aquabid page, scroll down and click on snails. I just looked and there are a few different colors available.

Petsmart usually carries gold, black and blue...

...and I bought half a dozen healthy blues at the Aquarium Society auction last week... 'em...they're very entertaining to watch...moreso then I had imagined...

Isn't that the truth? I thought having snails would be stupid right up until I got my own. I think I may even prefer them to fish.
