Gravid Spot on Live Bearer STILL???

My female Green Swordtail seems to never loose her Gravid Spot. Our male died of unknown causes a month or two ago, and she has has a birth since then, but she never lost her Gravid Spot it looks like she is pregnant again.... How is this possible? :hmm:

Its a well documented fact that live bearers can give birth multiple times from one mating. Or she could just be constipated and it looks like a gravid spot, my money is on shes prego again though.

I second that my guppy is going on her third batch of fry from one pregnancy they store the male sperm for up to 6 pregnancy's. I would imagine a swordtail would be very similar

How can you tell if they are constipated or if it's pregnancy? Because I recently bought three new fish from Wal-Mart and they were just in a random tank with 1.27 marked on them, so I have NO idea what they are. They look like a guppy/molly/platy mix.

They all have dark spots on them like a gravid spot, but I don't know if that's just their breed?

I can get pictures of them but they aren't too great because my phone has a bad camera. One second.

I'll try to get better pictures if needed, I just don't know how well it will work. They seem to hate my head popping over the top of the dresser where their tank is. :-(

it's hard to tell what they are the pic quality is not great, but the top pic looks like a pregnant platty. I doubt they are a mix of species.
