[PICTURE] Identify the problem please (Molly)
Over the past week my mollies have slowly become inactive (I Belive its because of the crappy walmart fish food i was feeding them) I stopped feeding them it and they seem to be moving about more.
But one of my mollies has this strange make on his scales. This mollie also used to lean up against my heater and rest on the suctioncup and the heaterbar - so does that make this a burn?
All he does is hide and sit at the bottom of the tank
Brackish: 1 Table spoon per 10 gallons
I have to use chlorine city water now... I use "START RIGHT" Chlorine remover measured properly (1 teaspoon per10 gallons) so my 50 gallon gets 5 teaspoons if i change 100% of the water changing 50% gets 2.5 tea spoons
Its hard to tell from the pic but is it the scales or is it some kind of growth?
also 1 tablespoon of salt per 10 gallons is not brackish, you would need way more salt for this. Are you using marine salt or just freshwater aquarium salt? and did you add the salt slowly or all at once? Did these mollies come from brackish water or fresh water and how long have you had them?
Do you know what your ammonia, nitrItes and nitrAtes are?
Are any of the other fish acting strange?
Mollies really need veggies, veggie based flakes and also real veggies like blanched zucchini or shelled peas a few times a week (it helps with digestion and keeps the diet varied).
I don't really know alot about fish diseases but google
lymphocystis and see if that looks like what you fish has.
you could always try a salt water bath and see if that helps.
