I have just add live rocks to my 1st tank and this morning I shore a red worms with hairs about 1.5".
from what I have read this is probably a type of bristle worms but maybe a Fireworms.
I will take sum photos when I have the time and post them her. but what things should I look for to help identify it ?
I think I have found that I have a small bit of soft coral coming out of one rock as well.
based on description you sound right on.. pix would be best to confirm however... they are generally harmless (unless you touch them LOL) and there is some debate as to if they are good for a tank ... i think they are fine and if they seem to be getting out of control that is a good indication that you are over feeding....
incase you decide you dont want to keep the worm buy a peperment shrimp or 2 and they will take care of the lil buggers for ya =)
i think i will keep them at the moment.
