vaccuuming substrate (eco-complete)?
 

i just had my 30 gallon setup and it's been running for a week, and it's cycled.

i bought this eco-complete substrate and it has a 2 part, a finer sand-like and rocks. when i pour this stuff into my tank, the sand-like material sits on top of the rocks. and they're supposed to break down the excess food and fish poo for food for the plants.

i want to change my water today but i am curious whether or not to vaccuum my substrate? or should i just change the water without vaccuuming?

With sand on top, you can "vacuum" the substrate by hovering about an inch or so above the substrate.
