Hello, I'm went to the LPS and bought some java fern today and some smaller plants but missed what the store clerk said they were. Can anyone help me out and tell me what this plant is? Thanks a bunch.

Kleinerbar I believe... could be mistaken.. it's like most sword type plants if I am right. But haven't had them for a while so you might want to double check that before going with my answer lol.

maybe, but from the reddish/brown leaves I thought maybe echinodorus x barthii. ?? not quite sure yet. thanks though :D

It is a sword plant, one of the Echinodorus cultivars, and I think Aaron is correct on kleinerbar. It requires direct light, quite the opposite of the Java Fern, so plant the sword out in the open. It also needs nutrients. Red leaf plants require more light and nutrients than green leaf plants. Not suggesting excess, just mentioning that without some form of weekly fertilization it will not do well.

Byron.
