Successful Discus Spawn..check them out.

So all of the sudden my discus started to spawn and laid eggs. The first batch was unsuccessful..probably due to the pond snail outbreak. Also at the same time we "hub and I" just started to convert the tank to tap water. So its hard to tell. Thereafter we realized the eggs weren't hatching and then disappeared..this happened 2 more times with unsuccessful hatching then we got a horrible algae outbreak which I believe was a blessing in disguise. The foggy green algae water I believe hid the eggs/fry. So while these discus were relentless with spawning during this whole situation we were trying to get a breeder tank set up before they would do it again. Little did we know after we cleared the water that there were little babies hanging on to the wood. So now we have an empty discus breeding tank. I think it would be to risky/stressful if we tried to relocate them at this point but we'll see how it goes.

These pictures crack me up. The parents didn't want me around to take pics..NOT ONE thought they were going to come through the glass..I wasn't even using a flash.

Most of the babies are on the underside of the wood..couldn't really get a great pic.

OMG that is So cute... the second pic with one looking at you and the other at the babies is priceless.

I have heard that these fish are hard to keep so good for you.
