My new dwarf puffer...
 

Hi everyone. I got a new friend this weekend. His name is Lucky because when the guy at the LFS was pouring some of the water out of the container he caught him in he accidently fell into the tank with some much larger cichlids that would of made a snack out of him if they had found him. Luckly there were a bunch of floating plants at the top of the tank and he hid in there until we found him. ;-) He is very tiny and so far he will not eat anything but snails luckly I have been breeding them on purpose for a few months for when I did get a puffer. Her is a picture of him stalking a snail and a picture of his tank. He is maybe half an inch long and his tank is 5 gallons sometimes I can't find him in there and have to really look for him. LOL

cool fish, was thinking to get one myself but they are so unfrendly to other fish that i changed my mind.

LOL yes I tried takeing the picture from different angels but they did not look right either this was the best one. He is a very friendly little guy he always comes over to see me when I am sitting on the sofa beside his tank. The agressiveness is why he has his own little tank just like my bettas do.

i cant wait till my dyi tank is finished so i can get one of these guys... I want one so bad...

seeing as how nasty some of these puffer temperaments can be i think those chiclids might have been the lucky ones...

Yes but these chiclids were big enough to eat him in one bite. LOL

hes a cutie Calm.... i love that half hex 5 gallon.... so for those of us with less experiance (and i will most likely never have any with one of these LOL) what is there diet like and i can tell the behavior is going to keep you occupied for hours.. but any quirks you can see yet?? i know i know i never post in FW but its yours and i am nosy LOL

LOL Bear your funny. He is very funny exspecially when he is stalking a snail. He eats alot to be so small I put 3-5 snails in there a day and he eats them all. But if I try to feed him at night after about 8:00 he will not eat them because hes resting. Also when I am sitting on the sofa beside his tank he always comes over to that side and stares at me. ; ) They really do have alot of personallity.
