Just wondering if anyone has any experiences with this. We just bought a bottle, hoping to help get more carbon in the water. We've read things like for some reason it's known to kill black beard algea. Any experiences would be great.
It will kill BBA, staghorn algae and most of the hard algaes. Simply use a siringe or a pipette to apply the recomended dose directly to the algae. In a couple days it dies.
Don't overdose! I know people that have killed their fish and plants doing so. I use the large dose right after a water change to treat the algae if I have any but since I started using it all my BBA and staghorn slowly vanished. I dose it daily and no longer have a hard algae problem.
Hard algae would include BBA, Beard algae, staghorn, and the others that are very hard to remove without damaging plants.
That topic will cover some of the basics.
cool thanks. i had heard about the spot treating but hadn't heard mention of using it as a dip.
