Male molly Display
I looked over to my tank and my male molly was chasing my prgnant female molly in a circle with his fin raised. Is this a normal behaviour? I have never seen him do that before, also he isnt a sailfing molly
My male balloon molly does that when he is trying to mate, he will chase the female and then circle around her with his top fin raised, then when she moves he chases and then when she stops he will circle again. I probably spend to much time watching my fish lol.
I have noticed though that he doesn't chase the pregnant one as much as the other two, he wills start chasing her and then move away, but there is one female in particular that he really likes and he constantly swims in circles around her "displaying" how beautiful he thinks he is lol.
I might make a video of it later, its quite the show he puts on.
I thought it was a display to. Oooops i wrote molly!! he is displaying to my female platy!
You were seeing the Molly mating dance I would guess. Or at least the end of it. Both of my males will raise their fins and swim in loops and circles before chasing after the ladies.
I had a male platy do that with a female betta, LOL
They are mating. As they do almost constantly lol
