Is this really ich?
I've seen a couple pictures of ich and was wondering if thats what my fish has. I asked the ppl at petco where I bought the fish and thats what they said it was, but the white balls are alot bigger then I've seen in any of the pictures of ich.
Welcome to Fishforum.com.:)
Definitely not ich. Fish infested with ich appear to ahve been sprinkled with flour.
Any big close-up pics?:) It looks like Glossatella to me. I have no experience in treating such disease however there are sites that may help you. I have a guide by Dieter Untergasser that recommends Sera Costapur as your treatment. I can't give you adequate advice to this unfortunately.
Look into Apiosoma.
This site recommends salt solution as your treatment against glossatella.
Thank you, and thats what I figured when I started looking at pictures. I used the ich medicine and now the glue on the tank (the corners) are blue because of the medicine! GRR!!
I'd advise you to look into the exact cause before trying out your medicines. Most meds can harm your fish, if not, even destroy the biological filtration thus mini-cycles are to be expected. Monitoring your water parameters at this time is extremely important. Do water changes if you detect ammonia and nitrites. Most meds do stain the silicon and cannot be removed.
Thanks for the help! I'll watch very carefully with testing every day. And do a water change now. The blue stain does kinda make the aquarium look interesting. As long as it won't damage my water every time I change it, then I'm excited about it now lol.
