Ammo Lock - How often can I use it?
I am using Ammo Lock to protect my Betta Kallie from persistent high ammonia levels. The store told me to only use it once every 7 days and the instructions don't give any directions in this regard.
I can't see that 1 cc in a 2 gallon bowl would last a week, with daily 10% water changes.
Does anyone know how often I can use Ammo Lock? It's supposed to also be a water conditioner so should I not be using my usual water treatment (Sera Aqutan) as well?
Would appreciate hearing any experiences with Ammo Lock.
Personally, I wouldn't be using any chemicals to control the ammonia.
I would suggest daily water changes of 50 percent to dilute the ammonia naturally, and keep feeding to a bare minimun.
Do you have a filter?
Hi...I bought the smallest filter (Elite) possible and it was still too powerful for his bowl. He couldn't stay upright and hid behind the heater. It also mashed the plant so we removed it.
I am doing - twice daily 10% changes but even after larger water changes the level doesn't drop below 4.
I'm guessing that my only option now is to remove him to a separate container until the cycling is complete.
try getting an adjustable flow filter, these can be set to barely have any water coming out of them or maybe go the air filter way... not the best but its beter than no filtration.
bettas are usually fairly hardy fish. usually living in rice paddies with no real water changes.... lol most of the time surviving in horse prints so they have a bit of depth to live in
