Can I add some small sized shrimp with gouramis ?
Guyz I have a 7 Gallon community tank. Tetra , Dwarf Gourami , Goldfish , Pleco , Molly now I want to add some shrimp there. Is it ok ?
No that tank is wayyyyy overstocked! WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY:shock:
yes, the plecos, goldfish, mollies, and gouramis are way too big for that tank regardless of their current size. It has more to then just that, gouramis are territorial to each other, goldfish are also cold water and should never be kept with tropical. The tetras depending on the type may also get too big for the tank and need a group of at least 6. Your tank is way below the minimum size for almost all the fish you have and you have incompatible species together.
When you get a bigger tank, (alot bigger) don't forget that goldfish are coldwater. Also, plecos are not recommended for any tank smaller than a 75g. I have seen monster plecos that make a 55g tank look small (at my lfs in fact).
And when you are stocking a tank don't forget to use the size each fish gets as an adult. Wouldn't want to have to get rid of some of your fish just because the other had a growth spurt.
Good luck setting up your new tank! Hope this helps!
I suggest taking the two plecos and gold fish back to the LFS, because like already mentioned they require a pretty big tank. For the remaining fish I would suggest getting a 20gallon, long or tall tank. Then the mollies need to go in the 20, and ONE of the dwarf gouramis needs too. Its had to say about the tetras, since IDK what kind they are. Then you can finish stocking both tanks, but RESEARCH the fish before you buy them, you need fish that do not outgrow your tanks, that are compatible with your current fish, and some like tetras need groups, while others like gouramis are best alone.
The caecilian in my avatar is indeed in my aquarium.
I couldn't agree with Mikaila31 more when it comes to research! I have gone in to pet stores intending to get one fish and coming out with another. Only to realize later that they are incompatable with my other fish due to pH and water hardness.
Long story short, pick a fish, research it, and stick to it!:-D
Sorry Guyz that Fish store guy said who was selling me 2 fish. Said they are tetra . After doing alot of searching I found out that they are Giant Danio buuhuu :(
Today I am getting my new 43 gallons tank. I hope problems solved now :D What do you say guyz ?
