Can I attatch Java moss or Java fern to a plastic rock formation?

This is the tank decoration I have gotten from petsmart. It's a large cave, made of plastic.
There is a fairly flatish surface on top on which I would like to try and grow either javafern or javamoss. Would this be possible? Inside the red lines is where I would like to place the moss and get it to attatch and grow. The surface is pretty rough and has a few places where the moss might be able to take hold. Would it be possible and how well do you think it would adhere to this thing?

Java moss would prolly come closer to attaching itself than java fern but I believe even the moss may prove difficult to adhere.

could you attach some of it with aquarium safe adhesive ?

I doubt the Ferns will attach. But from my exp with Java Moss, I'd tie it down right y that red circled area where you have the "rock" come upwards, that'll give you a good area to attach a string and then it'll grow from there. As long as the surface you attach it to is rough like natural rocks it will attach itself over time, if its soft it wont, then i'd suggest to 'rough' it up with some sandpaper and clean it off.

ive found my java moss attack to any and everything, even the sand in my tank to the walls of tank. You have to tie it down with string or something of that sort
