what does detoxifies mean?
 
detoxifies what does it mean for my fish tank it makes nitrate and nitrite not toxic but still present or will it lower the level i dont know what it does

Temporarily changes the chemical make up of the nitrate and nitrites to one not as harmful to the fish, once it wears off though it all goes back to what it was and it is not removed unless you do water changes.

I just realized I was in saltwater, this might be different here, get some more opinions.

This answer is relevant here. Products which use the word "detoxify" in their advertising are something that you should be very cautious of, even more so on the marine side.
