Ick with no fish
How long does it last if theres no fish to be on?
I had a couple tetras and bought a few more neons and in a couple days all but one had died and my friend that works at the place goes oh ya we had an ick in a bunch of tanks then I check mine and the only survivor has it. Before I could get to the store the next day it was dead.
So now Ive got a tank with just a few ghost shrimp and a bunch of snails and I read that ghost shrimp arent affected by it and snails can be but arent great hosts. So am I right in assuming it will die off on its own with no fish hosts?
I had it some days ago in my Tank too. 2 of my female pregnant swordtail died :( infected fish lived like 5-7 days then they died. Then they started spreading on other fish too. My Dwarf gourami and Mollies and plecos then I relocated all the fish then I changed 80% of my water and put new water with salt then I heated the water with my heater. Then when the water temp was normal then I put back all my fish. then I used normal heat for 3 days in my tank at the end goodbye ICK. One thing I learned that ICK Hates Hot Water.
