creepy crawlies in my tank!
I have a 30g with 2 guppies and 4 otto cats in. I'm not sure if my tank has cycled or not, its 6 weeks old but my readings are nitrite 0, amonia 0 and nitrates 0. Fish all seem happy.
Doing my regular water change today I was filling my bucket with clean water from the tap and noticed some tiny little brown things squiggling around in the sink. I took a closer look and there was about 20 of them swimming in the tank water that I had just poured down the sink!
Is it normal for these maybe parasites to be living in the tank? Is it harmful to the fish? What are they and should I be getting rid of them???
I have attached a photo, not very clear but its all i've got.
oooh, i'm all itchy.
...female copepod...commonly called Cyclops...freshwater crustacean...
...good for fish...don't worry about them...
cyclops...fantastic picture of a very tiny animal they sometime come with other live foods all fish will eat them but only if they can catch them
No...they're aquatic...won't be leaving the tank...
Yea, no worries…
Just don’t suck any up when you are siphoning or your going to be on an amazingly effective weight loss plan!
