swim bladder desease?
I have a large blue graummi that seems to be stuck at the top of my tank it trys to swim to the bottom but cannot stay there it seems healthy otherwise except that it looks overly fat
It could be a swim bladder issue but it could also be bloat or constipation. You can treat constipation by not feeding or pre-soaking food in medicinal paraffin or castor oil. If the fish seems to be pooping fine, however, it's not constipation.
I had that same problem, I was addviced by a friend that you could by medicine. He died days before I could get this medicine. I also had this problem with other fish and they regulated by them selfs. So there may be some hope. Sorry to here about this.
I would try not feeding the fish for 2-3 days and then feeding it peeled blanched peas. Buoyancy problems are usually caused by swallowing air or overfeeding/constipation. I have run into this several times and this remedy has always worked.
