2 Jack Dempsey in 55gallon

Hi i have a 55 gallon tank with 1 large canister filter and one medium waterfall filter, i was reading on the internet that you can only have 1 JD in a 55 gallon tank and i was wondering if this was true and what you guys think? Also i want to know if i can also fit a pleco in the tank?

The first and most important thing you have to do is make sure you don't get to males. As they mature, they will fight to the death. Try to get a female and a male. So as long as you don't get two males, this will most likely work out, but with some cichlids, they are very unpredictable and there are no guarantees.

And yes you will be able to add a pleco as long as you add him before you put in the Jack Dempseys and make sure he is the same size, if not bigger.
