Molly acting wierd?

Hey all,

I have a 5 gallon tank with 3 mollies in it. Two are about an inch long and the one that is acting weird is about 3/4 inch long. Lately he has been chased by the other larger male molly and since yesterday he is looking thin like he is not eating. While the other 2 are fat from eating he does not. Now I find him sitting on the bottom but he is alert. If I tap on the glass at him or another mollie swims near him he will get up and swim around normally but then he will occasionally "chase his tail"!
What should I do?

Is the third one a female? If not, you might want to try a ratio of 3 females to 2 males to keep the agression down.

Not that they're aggressive fish in general .. it's just that the males might compete for the females.

For one, a 5 gallon tank is to small for mollies,
I've seen I don't know how many die, Especially males when put in small tanks,
He's most likly being bullied and can't escape in that small a tank.
Stress can & will kill.

Oops. Yeah i forgot about the size of the tank. Agree with OFL about tank size being too small for the correct amount of mollies that you'd need to keep bullying and aggression down.

Any way you can rehome them?

He is gone, found him dead when I got home.
The other two are doing great.
