New Brackish water tank
Here is my new project a 29 gal tank. My brother had it sitting in his house un-used for years and he gave it to me. I have a 10gal brackish tank on my office desk and really injoy it so I wanted a bigger one. Sorry crappy pix took with phone

dont look like it needs a lot of scrubbing but check the silicon to see whether it leaks before filling it in the hall

yeah it was fairly clean. Had a lot of dust in it. the seals feel soft all around I will be painting the back black and will do a water test while I have it in the garage.

well the tank is cycling nicely and everything is looking good. The canister filter I made is running like a champ. took my first water tests last night. its been running for about 2 weeks now.

salinity is at 1.006
Ph 7.6
HR PH 8.2
ammo 2.0 ppm
nitrite 0.0 ppm
nitrate 0.0 ppm

i will be removing the drift wood due to the salt in the tank. I will look for a plastic one

any new pics?

yeah there over on the DIY thread where I was building my filter.

in the picts you will see the drift wood. It has been removed. I looked at some plastic driftwood yesterday and was blown away by the price on that stuff!!!!!. I wanted to cycle with live plants but have not had the money to do so. I've been looking in the planted forums here for options on brackish live plants but havent found much. I have found some info on the web but not as much as I would like. I may have to ask some of the great folks here about it. Maybe get an order together.

You should join a tropical fish society. I belong to one and they have them all over the U.S and other countries. It's cheap to join and they meet once a month. Mine has mini auctions of plants, fish and other aquarium related stuff before the they have a speaker. It is a good way to get a new tank started. That's how I switched out all my plastic plants for live plants. They even sometimes sell sand and gravel and driftwood covered in java moss or ferns. I suggest anyone that is starting a new set up or is on a budget to find a club in your area. Look under search as I posted a web-site for someone that lists all the fish clubs in the U.S and other countries. It should pop up for you. Maybe their is a club near where you live. Craigslist is also a good place to look for cheap aquarium stuff like plants and fish under Pets, or general section.
